First of all I want to say that I'm a complete dork for writing this article. Most people write critiques on politics or philosophy, I choose to slam a Star Wars fan site. I could write about politics if you want. For example; Why does the Trade Federation even want the Naboo folks to sign the treaty in the first place? Nobody knows! Lucas probably doesn't even know, but I'll save that topic for another time. For now my thoughts are centered on Supershadow.com. Yes I love reading Star Wars news and rumors, but the one thing that bothers me the most are imposters and Supershadow.com is "Grand Moff" Imposter. Supershadow spews his probe droids of nonsense all over his site and many Star Wars fans are buying into it.
Ok, now I begin my criticism.
What is Supershadow.com?
Supershadow.com is an unofficial Star Wars fan site that features a Q/A forum where readers ask Supershadow questions pertaining to Star Wars and he all knowingly answers them. The site also has a plethora of Star Wars related information.
Who is Supershadow?
This is what Supershadow.com says verbatim:
"As you would expect, all information regarding SuperShadow is above top secret (classified at the highest level). Currently, nothing is known about SuperShadow except that SS is very close, personal friends with George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars."
Why am I Attacking This Site?
Never in my life have I seen a site where people kiss so much ass. His readers call him: "oh great one," "Master Shadow," "Mr. Awesome," "All Knowing," "oh great and powerful one".. and the list goes on. At first I was intrigued, but after reading a bunch of posts I realized what a joke this site really was. All these geeks are being duped by this false prophet! Supershadow is like C-3PO on Endor and his readers are a bunch of annoying Ewoks thinking he is some powerful deity.
What Is My Accusation?
I am going to prove that many Bothans didn't die giving Supershadow his information. Not only does he not have an inside scoop on Star Wars, but he doesn't even understand what the movies are even about.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evidence #1
I've been reading Supershadow.com for quite some time now and not once did he ever reveal anything that could be classified as an inside scoop or confirmed rumor. I know that most websites have nothing to offer and that it's cool they exist and free-speech and blah blah blah, but this one is different. Supershadow claims he knows everything and he is overly self-assertive about that.
Here a typical Q/A that I took from his site:
Hey, can you get us any inside info on the Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords video game? Please post if you have any info. (SuperShadow: The SS spies have provided me with a rough plot outline for this game. However, I can't reveal any info at this time.)
People eat this sh*t up! How does that prove he has any inside information? It doesn't, Yet his readers respond with glee and admiration. What did he say that's so secret or interesting? NOTHING.
Based on that Q/A anybody could be a Supershadow. He says nothing of value! I can even be him.
Here is my example of a typical Supershadow Q/A:
"Hey Supershadow You Rule! Can you rate this title for Episode III? "Rise of The Sith To The Xtreme" (Supershadow responds "I would give that a 1 out of 10. I spoke to Lucas about it and he said no.")
"Wow Supershadow, You are the Supreme Being! Can you ask Lucas about this title? "The Fall of the Jedi To The Xtreme" (Supershadow responds, "I sent it to Lucas and he said 'interesting'.")
Every letter in the reader mail is like that. Make one up yourself, It's fun! I suggest you visit his site and read anyone of them yourself. You'll see!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evidence #2
He doesn't even know what the Star Wars movies are about!
Example:
Greetings oh great and powerful one! I was wondering why Obi-Wan let Vader kill him so easily in Episode 4: A New Hope? My smart *** brother thinks that he let Vader kill him so that he would not get in the way of Luke's training and still guide him as a spirit. Is this theory right? Thanks and rock on! (SuperShadow responds: This theory is incorrect. Obi-Wan didn't let Vader beat him. Obi-Wan simply gave up against the superior fighting skills of Darth Vader.)
I think it's pretty common knowledge that Obi-Wan sacrificed himself for Luke. Didn't Supershadow notice how Obi-Wan turned and looked at Luke before Vader struck him down? For Supershadow to say something as simple as "Obi-Wan simply gave up against the superior fighting skills of Darth Vader" really cheapens Obi-Wan's character and makes him less important towards the development of Luke. Obi-Wan saying, "You can't win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine" explains it all.
I can go on and on about this. Again please visit his site and see for yourself.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evidence #3
Reader Question: Greetings oh great one! Where did Lucas get the idea for midichlorians at?
(SuperShadow responds: Midichlorians are an Supershadow creation. That is why it is such a great idea for explaining the Force. Pure genius on all levels of analysis.)
Reader: That is possibly one of the stupidest ideas in the Star Wars universe.
(SuperShadow responds: Be kind. Don't hurt the feelings of SS.)
Is this guy kidding me? Yeah I know liking Midichlorians is a matter of opinion (I personally think it's horrible), but first he claims he came up with the idea with no proof to back it up, but then he thinks it was brilliant and congratulates himself for it. What a cocky bastard!
After that particular post his readers were referring to him as the creator of Midichlorians! THEY ACTUALLY BELIEVED HIM! Who are these people? Besides, I thought the Force was "an energy-field that surrounds us and penetrates us and binds the galaxy together." Whatever...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evidence #4
Like most fan sites, his website is also a dumping ground for tidbits and photos that can be found all over the internet. Much like what we do at shampoopoo, only we don't claim to be "very close, personal friends of George Lucas." We just take crap that's already available. Supershadow is like "oh look at my rare Episode 3 photos" and in reality they're nothing but photos you can access by having a StarWars.com Hyperspace account.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evidence #5
If you send Supershadow an email challenging him, he won't reply. Try it yourself!
Just type "Supershadow you are a fake" and copy and paste this URL:
http://www.shampoopoo.com/flotsam/supershadowsucks.html
He is not going to respond.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well there you go. If any of you "Supershadow believers" want to challenge me go right ahead. If you want to keep reading stuff like "I'll forwarded that to Lucas" or "I can't reveal that info at this time" then Supershadow.com is the place to be.
I'll still visit his site for that rare script or rare photo because he did a fine job organizing them. Also his site must have some great meta-tags because if you Google "Star Wars Rumors", Supershadow.com ranks in the top 5; so I'll give him credit for that. But If you want real Star Wars rumors I suggest visiting theforce.net, it's a well put together site with lots of information and a great forum.
Either Supershadow is some dorky kid playing a practical joke on the Star Wars community, or he is Rick McCallum the "real" Phantom Menace who pretty much has no clue about Star Wars except saying "yes" to George Lucas.
Rick McCallum is probably too busy sucking George's dick, so I tend to believe it's some dorky kid.
STOP SUPERSHADOW.COM(link da ga destroyamo)
SuperShadow's website first appeared during the production of Star Wars Episode I. He released 'exclusive' information and claimed to be an Industrial Light and Magic employee and personal friend of George Lucas. After one day, the following disclaimer appeared:
This web site has no association with Lucasfilm. SuperShadow.com is a fan operated web site that makes no claims as to the copyrights held by Lucasfilm regarding Star Wars. Star Wars, its characters and all related items are copyright Lucasfilm.
It's reasonable to assume an actual Lucasfilm employee was made aware of the site, and threatened Suttle with legal action. To this day Suttle still says he is friends with George Lucas, but no longer claims to be employed by him, or have any "official" connection to Star Wars.
He continued posting "news" about the new films, all of which turned out to be fake, the only exception being the reposting of stories which had already appeared on other websites earlier in the day. He again attracted controversy again when he claimed to be in possession of the script for Star Wars Episode II--quite a feat considering George Lucas had not finished writing it at the time. SuperShadow's source was "Brad Bender, head of Lucasfilm Internet Relations". There is never, and has never been a Brad Bender employed by Lucasfilm, but this was all made elementary when Episode II turned out to be nothing like SuperShadow's version of the story. His excuse was that the script he'd received was a "Rough Draft".
SuperShadow claimed to have read the script for Episode III, but could not post any information about it due to copyright law. After enough spoilers information had been released about Episode III to cobble together some kind of basic plot, he posted what he claimed to be the script - it contains only a brief rundown of each scene and no dialogue.
After originally claiming the title of the third prequel ("Revenge of the Sith") would be released in late 2004, SuperShadow claimed that Lucasfilm released the title earlier than expected (July instead of November) because one of his readers had successfully guessed it.
Though many detractors complain that SuperShadow.com contains much misinformation and exaggeration, there is a growing consensus that the joke is on those who take the site seriously in the first place.
As of May 25th, 2005, SuperShadow's site has been hacked.
[edit]
SuperShadow's Q&A
Despite the controversy, SuperShadow has attracted a legion of fans who send him their questions, which he answers on his website every day or so. These questions pertain to Star Wars history, trivia, and the upcoming movies. These appear on the index page of his site, with the answers in bold text following the questions. Example:
O.K., SS, you promised a long, long time ago and now you must tell us the real Episode III title. Finally someone guessed so speak! Great site and congratulations from Canary Islands, Spain. (SuperShadow: Wish I could, but I just promised Lucas a few days ago that I would not reveal the actual title for Episode 3. The Episode 3 title will be announced on www.starwars.com in November-december 2004.)
Suttle is constantly contradicting himself for example:
Hello Almighty SS, still scoring? (SuperShadow: Scoring 24/7!) Can you tell us who trained Palpatine? (SuperShadow: Darth Imperius was the master of Darth Sidious/Palpatine) Thankyou Master Shadow, this site is DA BOMB! (SuperShadow: Everyone says so.)
Then SuperShadow posted some "spoilers" for EP III which includes this apparent quote from the movie:
"Darth Plagueis was my master. He taught me the key to his power," Palpatine said. Suddenly, Palpatine's voice turned cold, and old: "...before I killed him."
Neither the original information or the final quote actually appeared in the film.
On March 28 2005, it appears that his website was suspended, although it stated the suspension was "for billing purposes." The website has since been restarted.
Some time in February 2005 Supershadow claimed in his website that he had spent a few days at the Skywalker ranch working with Lucas editing episode 3. He listed a detailed hour by hour journal of all the things "they" got done. There he explained how Lucas would consult him on many aspects of the contents of the movie. In March-April 2005 his website started to display supposed interviews with several of the actors featured in episode 3 including George Lucas. In these interviews question were generated by the fans. In many occasions when answering fans questions Lucas would praise supershadow for all his input regarding production, plot ideas and even the future episodes (if any) of Star Wars. He claimed to have had a huge part in the entire prequel, from script ideas to being an extra in the movies. Yet with such a role in the prequel his proper name Mike, Michael, Suttle neither the alias shadow or supershadow appear on any of the episodes 1 and 2 DVD credits nor in episode 3 movie credits, not even on the special thanks section (heck even the coffe and donut boy made it into the credits). When a comment was submited to his website about proper credit credentials he did not answer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just before the release of Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Supershadow released an interview with George Lucas himself answering questions and comments that fans submitted to the website. After the mention of the sequel trilogy a few times George Lucas was quoted to have said:
"George Lucas: Whether Episode 7 ever gets made is up to the fans. If Revenge of the Sith is the biggest hit film in 2005, then we will move forward with Episode 7. If the fans let me down and Revenge of the Sith is not as successful as I would like, then we will close the door on the Star Wars films. Box-office failure will prove that there is no longer sufficient interest in Star Wars to justify making yet another trilogy."
He also apparently stated that anymore Star Wars films to be made after would be left up to his children and to Shadow.
"Do you really want to make Episodes 7, 8 and 9? George Lucas: Absolutely not. I’m finished making Star Wars films. However, Shadow wants to continue making them. It will take perfect conditions for me to green light the next trilogy. First, Revenge of the Sith will have to be the biggest box-office hit of 2005. Second, the Star Wars TV shows will have to be produced and ready for broadcast. Finally, I will need a five year break before I even come close to considering working on Episode 7. Let’s be honest. Episode 7 may never happen. If it happens, you will all have Shadow to thank for it. He is the driving force behind Star Wars. I decided to make Star Wars TV shows based on ideas formulated by Shadow. He is a very brilliant and clever guy. I owe him so much."
On May 25th 2005 a few days after these kind of statements www.supershadow.com was defaced by an online forum group called g00ns. The group have criticised the websites content claiming:
"This site was defaced by www.g00ns.com. We have grown tired of this site's b******t, everything on this site is a lie, SuperShadow is not affiliated with George Lucas in anyway. Stop lying to these naive Star Wars fans, you are not a friend of George Lucas, you don't even know the guy. You don't have access to any scripts that aren't already public. And one last thing, you are not going to produce the next trilogy, so stop the b******t"
After this attack many fan believe that George Lucas should make an official statement as to whether the friendship is true or a huge joke pulled on naive Star Wars fans.

Star Wars sequel trilogy
SuperShadow claims to possess the scripts, or at least the outlines, for episodes VII, VIII and IX of Star Wars. These involve an army of Dark Jedi on rocketpacks, a superweapon which creates black holes, and characters fighting clones of each other. An excerpt from Star Wars Episode IX: Victory of the Force, reads as follows:
Ben and Anakin battle Horgon while the real Luke battles the Luke clone and Mara Jade battles the Vader clone. Horgon strikes down Anakin. Ben screams in anger and then lunges at Horgon with all his might. The real Luke cuts the clone Luke in half. The real Luke then turns to fight Horgon in order to prevent Horgon from killing Ben. The Vader clone battles Mara Jade. They exchange many, many blows.
SuperShadow also claims that the Sequel Trilogy will not be made by Lucasfilm, but by SuperShadow himself, and the fans who support his website. He has never specified when or how, but receives and posts many comments about it regardless.
SuperShadow's Episode 7 "The Fallen Hero" plot script (http://www.starwarssequeltrilogy.com/)
SuperShadow's Episode 8 "The Republic in Crisis" plot script (http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/episode8/plot.html)
SuperShadow's Episode 9 "Victory of the Force" plot script (http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/episode9/plot.html)
SuperShadow claims that these scripts have been written by George Lucas, even though the creator of Star Wars has said many times that Episode 3 "Revenge of the Sith" will be the final Star Wars film.

Most powerful Jedi knights & Sith lords
A ranking system containing characters from the Star Wars movies, the Expanded Universe, and others which appear nowhere except SuperShadow.com. Suttle claims that these characters correspond with George Lucas' "vision" of Star Wars, even though most do not have published stories or profiles on StarWars.com.
[edit]
History of the Jedi & Sith
An exhaustive history of the Jedi Knights and their enemies, the Sith. Much of this information can be found nowhere else except Supershadow.com.
[edit]
Midichlorian list
Supershadow claims to have invented the concept of Midichlorians, and has compiled a list of each character and their midichlorian count. Most of these characters are not recognised by Lucasfilm and, again, only appear on SuperShadow.com.
[edit]
History of Star Wars
A chronology of the Star Wars phenomenon, starting in 1974 with the release of George Lucas' second film, American Graffiti. For a long time and for an unexplained reason, "Star Wars" was always highlighted in blue and "History" in yellow, making it look like SuperShadow typed "Star Wars + History" into a search engine and copied the result. The effect looked sloppy and could easily have been changed with little effort - this has lead some to believe that SuperShadow is a parody of obsessed fans, and the site is deliberately awful. Eventually he edited the section and it no longer contains these highlited words.
[edit]
Supershadow's Ep. 3 Cameo
In the midichlorian list, SuperShadow claims to have a cameo in Episode 3 starring as a Jedi Knight named "Nebar Foxis". In the "Brief History of the Jedi and Sith", a historical account posted on his site, "Nebar Foxis" is described as "the best looking male Jedi of his time". Suttle did not appear in the film. He previously stated that his part was deleted. When fans exposed that his real name would finally be revaled crditing him as Nebar Foxis he simple said it'll be credited to Shadow. The name Shadow nor Nebar Foxis were not displayed anywere in the movie credits.
[edit]
Star Wars fan fiction
SuperShadow's readers send in their own stories, which he posts. The section is mostly concerned with Episode 3 fanscripts.
[edit]
SuperShadow's filmography
This page claims that "SuperShadow is one of the world's premier documentary film makers. SuperShadow specializes in films about the paranormal, cryptozoology and extraterrestrials", and lists about two dozen documentaries, none of which exist outside of supershadow.com. Funny thing considering Mickey Suttle is a Computer Software engineer. This man has also been known to misquote executives of the Time-Warner TV company.
[edit]
SuperShadow's Girlfriend
This page shows a picture of an "attractive" woman, typically a non-nude photo of a porno star or model, claimed by SuperShadow to be his girlfriend: by Supershadow's own admission he "just can't stop scoring". The picture is changed occasionally because some subjects have threatened to sue him for using their pictures without permission: apparently they are less impressed by SuperShadow's "scoring" than he is himself.
